Before your eyes will be everything from lush pine forests to impressive snow-capped mountains. A world filled with colors, aromas, and contrasts that will leave more than one visitor speechless.
Among the many recommendations, a visit to Les Valls d'Àneu is a must, where the Noguera Pallaresa River flows through the entire valley, thus becoming the main source of life in the area. One of the routes you can take in this sub-region of Pallars Sobirà is the Mont Valier (2,838 meters) and Pico de la Pala (2,721 meters) route, which is easy and takes less than six hours, departing from the Perosa Bridge. It's impressive to contemplate this prestigious mountain with its completely unmistakable silhouette.
Other popular routes in Les Valls d'Àneu include the one that takes you to Pico de Peguera (2,983 meters) and Pico de Monestero (2,877 meters). This route is ideally located in the Aigüestortes and Sant Maurici Lake National Park; in fact, it is one of the largest and highest peaks in the park. The difficulty level is not very high, but it does require being in good shape. The hike can vary between 3 and 6 hours, departing from the Prat Pierró parking lot. The climb to Pico de Monestero is easier, but offers equally surprising and breathtaking views.
If neither of the previous two suggestions appeals to you and you're looking for something much easier, don't worry, as Pallars Sobirà has magnificent, easy-to-follow trails suitable for anyone. Take, for example, the route that takes you to the Sant Quir Hermitage in Alins, a peaceful and pleasant walk of less than a kilometer and a half-hour hike, departing from the town of Alins.
