In this region of northern Lleida, hunting is mostly practiced in groups and through the well-known "batida" system. One of the hunting methods is big game hunting of ungulates, or in other words, fallow deer, roe deer, chamois, wild boar, and deer, among others. Small game hunting in Pallars Sobirà is also very important in the region, with animal species such as rabbits, quail, hares, red-legged partridges, thrushes, and woodcocks.

The weapons used for hunting include rifles, shotguns, and even bow hunting. Hunting is one of the most common activities in Pallars Sobirà, as well as in the area surrounding the Valls d'Àneu, one of the gems located in the heart of the Pyrenees. In the Valls d'Àneu area, there are two areas specifically designed for hunting enthusiasts. On the one hand, there is the National Hunting Reserve (RNC), which consists of Esterri d'Àneu, Alt Àneu, and Guingueta d'Àneu, and on the other, there is the Coto de Espot. In the Valls d'Àneu, you will find a vast diversity of ravines, rivers, high-mountain lakes, and reservoirs—sources of life and perfect refuge for many animal species, making it a favorite destination for hunters as well as fishermen.

In the Alt Pallars region, in the heart of the western Catalan Pyrenees, you'll find the largest national hunting reserve in Catalonia and one of the largest in the entire country, with an area exceeding 81,000 hectares. This reserve covers three regions, one of which is Pallars Sobirà, along with Alt Urgell and Alta Ribagorça. This region, rich in wildlife and diverse, has become one of the most visited destinations for hunting enthusiasts, especially for species such as roe deer, wild boar, fallow deer, red deer, chamois, and mouflon.

It is obvious that before proceeding to enjoy a day of hunting in any of the hunting grounds or reserves suitable for this purpose located in Pallars Sobirà, it will be necessary to apply for authorization or a license to do so, as well as arrive with the essential clothing and utensils to be able to carry out this activity, since it is essential to have adequate equipment that meets two fundamental aspects: comfort and blends in with the environment (avoid bright colors). Pallars Sobirà will become a perfect place to enjoy hunting in a safe, controlled, legal, and entertaining way.
