Pallars Sobirà is currently the region in Catalonia with the largest number of protected areas, thanks to the immense natural charm of these beautiful, verdant lands north of Lleida. In Pallars Sobirà, it is its parks that undoubtedly attract thousands of visitors each year, eager to lose themselves in nature and soak up the fresh air.

The High Pyrenees Natural Park and the Aiguestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park are the two basic pillars of this region, two oases of peace, nature, and tranquility in the area. However, Pallars Sobirà offers many other areas of natural interest that are also worth exploring and visiting, such as forests, lakes, ski resorts, and, ultimately, nature in its purest form.

The Estany de Certescans has become a must-see for those who come to discover the charms and secrets of Pallars Sobirà. The Estany de Certescans is the largest lake in the Pyrenees, located at approximately 2,300 meters above sea level. Reaching this lake is not difficult, as it is a fairly simple hike, except in winter, when the road is covered in snow. To reach this lake, take the L-504 highway from the village of LLavorsí to Tavascan and rent a taxi to Canalada.

The Mata de Valencia Forest in Àneu is another of the most interesting options in Pallars Sobirà, a beautiful fir forest currently considered the most important fir forest in the entire Iberian Peninsula. The Mata de Valencia Forest in Àneu is a beautiful space that offers a beautiful yet wild environment. It's an ideal place for hiking with the whole family, and it must be said that the level of complexity of its trails and paths is truly simple.

In the impressive Boet Valley lies a beautiful, verdant, grassy plain known as Pla de Boet, a space surrounded by forests and mountains, creating a landscape worthy of admiration. This plain is located at approximately 2,000 meters above sea level, through which the Baiau River winds. Cows, mares, and sheep are often found grazing in the meadows that form this magnificent plain.

Also located at an altitude of approximately 2,000 meters is the Boumort National Game Reserve, a reserve covering 13,000 hectares. Within these beautiful lands, countless animal species find shelter and refuge, including fallow deer, badgers, wild boar, wolves, squirrels, and Tengmalm's owls, among many others. The Boumort reserve is made up of countless plants, trees, and shrubs, including juniper, Scots pine, rosemary, black pine, and bearberry.

The Estany de Montcortés, the Arnui Forest, and the Pic de l'Orri are also worth mentioning. The list of places of special natural interest to visit goes on, as the possibilities you'll find here are truly extensive, each one more surprising than the last.
