Places of interest in Sort and Romanesque

In the municipality and town of Sort, capital of the beautiful Pallars Sobirà region, numerous buildings from the Romanesque period, as well as from other periods, survive and are preserved. The village of Pujalt is another town with some of the most interesting buildings and places in Sort and Pallars Sobirà, such as the newly built parish church of Sant Pere. At the entrance to the beautiful village of Sorre, at an altitude of approximately 1,060 meters, is a beautiful stone fountain, a unique tribute to Father Josep Torra. The small Romanesque church of Sant Esteve, which has been modified and restored in some areas, also offers a chance to soak up the architectural details of this building. The village of Llessui is also a must-see in Sort, thanks to its beautiful old town, where the parish church of Sant Pere dominates the area. This church has a unique entrance, as it is located beneath the bell tower. The Romanesque church of Sant Julià, restored with modern touches, and the ruins of the hermitage of Sant Salvador are also recommended visits.
