One of the best ways to discover Pallars Sobirà and the landscapes of the Pyrenees is to do it on two wheels. Sort is an ideal starting point for motorcycling lovers, as it allows you to enjoy spectacular roads, mountain passes, charming villages and viewpoints with unique views.

Circular motorcycle routes have a great advantage: they start and end in the same municipality, which makes it easier to plan your getaway and allows you to stay comfortably in Sort.

If you are a motorcycle enthusiast and want to discover all the corners that this area can offer you, we propose two routes that will surprise you.

Saint Lawrence Route

This circular route has an approximate distance of 264 km and an estimated driving time of about 5 hours, not counting the stops. The route runs along such emblematic roads as the N-260 and the C-14, two ideal routes for enjoying driving and the Pyrenean landscapes.

The route begins at the Hotel Les Brases, in Sort, and the first notable stop is Seu d'Urgell, one of the most historic cities in Alt Urgell and an important medieval center in Catalonia.

Then, the route takes you to Sant Llorenç de Morunys, a charming village located at the foot of the Llosa del Cavall reservoir. This natural environment is perfect for taking a break, enjoying the scenery and practicing activities such as fishing, water sports or hiking.

The next stop is Solsona, where you can visit the Diocesan and Regional Museum and stroll through its historic center. From there, the route continues to the Bassella Motorcycle Museum, an essential space for motoring enthusiasts and considered one of the most outstanding motorcycle museums in Europe.

The route continues towards Ponts and, via the C-14, reaches Isona and Tremp. In Tremp you can discover elements of its heritage such as the Collegiate Church of Santa Maria de Valldeflors or the Pont de Sant Jaume.

After this last stop, all that remains is to return to Sort, enjoying the last kilometers of a route full of landscapes, culture and history.

Pyrenees Viewpoint Route

This second proposal is a circular route of about 270 km, with an approximate driving time of 5 hours.

The route runs along the N-260, the C-13 and the L-503, crossing some of the most spectacular mountain passes in the territory and passing by several lakes and reservoirs. Without a doubt, it is a route designed to enjoy nature and the great panoramas of the Pyrenees.

Leaving Sort, the first stop is Gerri de la Sal, a town known for its heritage and its ancient salt pans. From here, the route continues to Peramea, one of the most charming towns in Pallars Sobirà, and to Lake Montcortès, a protected natural area included in the Plan for Areas of Natural Interest (PEIN).

The route continues to Pobleta de Bellveí, from where you will begin the ascent to Port de Perves, one of the most spectacular sections for motorcyclists thanks to its curves and views.

After continuing along the N-230 you will reach the Coll de les Ares area, where you will find one of the most special points on the route: the Mirador del Pirineu, an essential stop for lovers of photography and mountain landscapes.

Also nearby is the Montsec Astronomical Park, a unique space to discover the Pyrenean sky and enjoy visits and activities related to astronomy.

The route continues towards Àger and then to Sant Llorenç de Montgai, a natural environment known for its reservoir, ideal for resting and enjoying the landscape.

The next stop is Camarasa, where you can take a break at the Font de les Bagasses before continuing towards the Talarn dam. On the last stretch of the route, you can take the opportunity to rest at the Cerveseria C13 de Segur before returning to Sort.
