The rivers of the Lleida Pyrenees, an attraction for all anglers

In the Catalan Pyrenees is the Noguera Pallaresa river, in the town of Sort. It is the second most important basin in Catalonia and a very strong, flowing river, with good fishing and spectacular landscapes. The trout are wild and are not easily fooled. In this river, fishing is allowed from March to October, but the best time is summer (June, July and August).

Workers from the company Ibérica d'Energies discovered what could be considered one of the largest native trout (Salmo trutta), weighing 8 kilos, located in the eastern Pyrenees in recent decades. Therefore, if you are lucky, you may come across one of these.

To enjoy recreational fishing in Catalonia, you must have a fishing license that authorizes the holder to fish in continental and maritime waters. You can request it through this website by filling out a form. Fishing permits can be obtained at local offices and territorial services of the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the Department of the Natural Environment and Housing and the Catalan Federation of Fishing and Casting Sports, as well as through La Caixa's Servicaixa terminals.
