FAMILY WALK
DAVALL LAKE IN LES COMES DE RUBIÓ
An ideal route for families, with no difficulty, measuring 4.2 km and a cumulative elevation gain of 125 m. We begin the route from the Comes de Rubió refuge, climb towards Planell dels Fangassos, and discover the unique Davall Lake. We skirt the sunny slope at the head of the valley, pass over the Rubió pass, and descend along a track to Planell dels Fangassos, where we complete the circular route. From here, we retrace a section of the path until we reach the refuge again.
The long and beautiful Comes de Rubió Valley runs north to south, stretching between the black pine forests and high mountain meadows of the Orri massif, located at the southern end of the Alt Pirineu Natural Park, the largest protected natural area in Catalonia. This short family walk takes us to the head of this valley, where we discover the unique little Davall Lake, surrounded by peace, tranquility, and fantastic natural beauty.

• How to get there by car:
In Sort, take the N-260 road toward Seo de Urgel. We climb the Cantó Pass, leaving behind the towns of Vilamur, Soriguera, and Llagunes. Approximately 2 km before reaching the top of the Cantó Pass, we come to the town of Rubió. At this point, take a track that leads off to the left with signs for the Comes de Rubió refuge. Caution: This track is only accessible by vehicle from May 1st to November 15th, provided there is no snow or ice. Failure to comply with these regulations is punishable by law.
