DAVALL LAKE IN LES COMES DE RUBIÓ
This is an ideal family-friendly hike, with no technical difficulty, covering 4.2 km and a total elevation gain of 125 m, perfect for enjoying the Catalan Pyrenees at a relaxed pace.
The route starts at the Comes de Rubió Mountain Refuge, from where you gently climb towards the Planell dels Fangassos and reach Davall Lake, a small and unique mountain lake. The trail continues along the sunny side of the valley head, crosses the Rubió Pass, and descends along a track back to the Planell dels Fangassos, completing a circular route. From here, you retrace a short section of the path to return to the refuge.
The long and beautiful Comes de Rubió Valley, oriented north to south, stretches between black pine forests and high-mountain meadows of the Orri Massif, located at the southern end of the Alt Pirineu Natural Park, the largest protected natural area in Catalonia. This short and accessible walk takes you to the head of the valley, where you discover Davall Lake, a peaceful spot surrounded by outstanding natural beauty, ideal for relaxing and enjoying nature with your family.

How to get there by car:
In Sort, take the N-260 road toward Seo de Urgel. We climb the Cantó Pass, leaving behind the towns of Vilamur, Soriguera, and Llagunes. Approximately 2 km before reaching the top of the Cantó Pass, we come to the town of Rubió. At this point, take a track that leads off to the left with signs for the Comes de Rubió refuge. Caution: This track is only accessible by vehicle from May 1st to November 15th, provided there is no snow or ice. Failure to comply with these regulations is punishable by law.
