THE SURROUNDINGS OF SORT
A 12.8-km circular route visiting the small villages scattered across the Batlliu de Sort mountain range. The route starts and ends in Sort. From here, we visit the villages of Olp, Pujalt, Enviny, and Bressui. The route is well signposted and follows well-defined paths and trails along ancient dry-stone walls. From Sort to Olp, the path is always upward. The section between Olp and Enviny flanks the mountain on flat terrain or a gentle incline. From Enviny to Bressui and Sort, the path is downward.
The circular route through the Batlliu de Sort takes us into an area steeped in history. We discover small clusters of houses perched in the mountains, meadows with traditional dry-stone walls, forests of oak, hackberry, and maple trees, and enjoy a panoramic view of the Noguera Pallaresa River valley and the Torreta de l'Orri. A beautiful route that allows us to discover a relatively unknown area of Pallars Sobirà.

Medium. This route presents no technical difficulties. We classify the hike as "medium" difficulty, although the total elevation gain is over 600m.

Notes:
The basic itinerary offers several options for shortening or lengthening it. 1. From Olp, we can return directly to Sort (1:00 a.m.) along the path that passes through the town of Castellviny. 2. From Pujalt, we can shorten the route and descend to Sort (0:50 a.m.) along the Borda de Peret path. 3. From Enviny, we can extend the route to Montardit de Dalt and return to Sort via the Ribera de Montardit (1:45 a.m.).

How to get there by car:
The starting point for the excursion is the Hotel Restaurant Las Brasas in Sort. We arrive in Sort via the C-13 highway. Hotel Les Brases is located on the C-13 highway, just off the northern exit from the town. There is plenty of free parking in front of the hotel.
