MOTHER OF GOD OF ARBOLÓ AND GERRI DE LA SAL
This 15.3 km linear route (one way) follows the course of the Noguera Pallaresa River, from Sort to the Arboló Sanctuary and Gerri de la Sal. The route begins in the regional capital, crosses the Les Vernedes riverside forest, and enters holm oak and Scots pine forests as far as Baro. It then passes through the Arboló gorge, visits the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Arboló, and finally arrives at Gerri de la Sal. The route is signposted and suitable for experienced hikers.
This excursion explores the middle course of the Noguera Pallaresa River as it flows through the villages of Sort, Baro, and Gerri de la Sal. The route follows the riverbank, winding through riverside forests, holm oak groves, and pine forests, and also offers the chance to discover one of the architectural gems of the High Pyrenees: the Romanesque sanctuary of the Virgin of Arboló, patron saint of Pallars Sobirà.

Observations:
1. The route is marked with yellow paint continuity markers and vertical signposts at detours and intersections. In any case, be careful, as some sections may be lost.
2. To return to Sort from Gerri de la Sal, you can take the scheduled bus. Check the schedule at www.alsa.es (the bus also stops in Baro).

How to get there by car:
The starting point for the excursion is the Hotel Les Brases in Sort. We arrive in Sort via the C-13 highway. The Hotel Les Brases is located on the C-13 highway, just north of the town. There is free parking in front of the hotel.
