MONT REBEI GORGE
The Mont-rebei Gorge, or Congost de Mont-rebei, is a spectacular route carved into the Montsec mountain range by the Noguera Ribagorzana river. It forms a natural border between Huesca and Lleida (Aragon and Catalonia) and shares territory with the protected areas of the La Noguera Nature Reserve and the Montsec mountain range.
The gorge is impressive for its scenery and its sheer size. In some places, the width narrows to just 20 meters, while in others, the vertical walls rise to a height of 500 meters. Along the path carved into the rock, you'll find points of great interest, such as the Sant Jaume Ravine suspension bridge, located forty meters above the river.
The Mont-rebei Gorge is also an area of immense ecological value due to its endemic flora and wildlife, which includes birds of prey such as the bearded vulture, griffon vultures, and golden eagle. Adventurers can choose from hiking, kayaking, mountaineering, caving, and even cycling to enjoy the incredible scenery of this virtually untouched natural area.
