MEDIEVAL TOWN
Vila closa de Peramea i l'Era d'Ortega.
Peramea displays the most characteristic urban features of what could be described as a medieval walled town, a type of clustered and compact settlement, self-contained, in which the walls of the houses themselves serve as fortifications. Evidence of this medieval origin includes the town's gateways, its urban layout, the castle ruins, and the Colomers tower.
The village center was declared a Cultural Asset of National Interest in 1985. Within the center, you can also visit the Era de Ortega (information and visits: +34 973 662 053 or +34 630 887 939), a former agricultural and livestock production area recovered and restored by the Grup Cultural “Lo Vent de Port,” where exhibitions are held, guided tours are offered, and educational workshops are conducted. Near the village, you can also visit the Mosquera dolmen and the Sant Cristòfol spring, as well as enjoy various hiking trails.
